Sudanese-Canadian creator Mustafa has announced a New Jersey concert benefitting humanitarian efforts in Gaza and Sudan, with anticipated performances from Omar Apollo, Clairo, 070 Shake, Daniel Caesar, 6lack and Faye Webster, among others.
All proceeds from the event, slated for Jan. 4 at Newark Symphony Hall, will support Human Concern International, an organization that is raising funds for humanitarian aid in Sudan and Gaza, among other initiatives.
The Artists for Aid lineup also boasts Nick Hakim, Ramy Youssef, Charlotte Day Wilson, Mohammed El-Kurd and Mustafa himself, as well as some surprise guests. Tickets for the event are on sale now for $150.

In making the announcement, Mustafa took to Instagram to explain the ethos of the event saying, “In the last few years, I visited both my homeland, Sudan- & Palestine. My visit to both had a principal intention, to connect with artist communities, with young organizers- for parallels of sorrow and hope and faith.”

Referring to the systemic attacks on Palestinian people across the Gaza Strip and elsewhere, Mustafa said, “The violence in both nations seized the dream. Here it is revived for me in someway. The intention remains, on this evening we give our voices to make room for theirs.”
The concert’s announcement comes as the situations in both Gaza and Sudan continue to escalate. With communities across Gaza destroyed, citizens have not yet recovered from Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack. According to reports by NBC News, which cites the territory’s health officials, 20,000 Palestinians have been killed, with 70% of them women and children.
“We worked tirelessly to bring this to you, but our fatigue is not even a splinter of what we’ll be singing for,” said Mustafa. “I want to thank each artist performing from the deepest part of me, for your time and effort. None of you hesitated when asked. We’ll remember.”
