From a modern-day Sherlock Holmes on CBS’s “Elementary” to the sex researchers of Showtime’s recently-concluded “Masters of Sex,” Timberman develops programming with producing partner Carl Beverly through their Timberman/Beverly Productions.
The pair – who have an overall deal with CBS TV Studios — are also executive producers on CBS’s “The Odd Couple.” Past series include FX’s critically-acclaimed “Justified,” CBS/A&E’s “Unforgettable” and NBC’s “Kidnapped” among others.
Beginning as an assistant editor at Random House in New York, Timberman broke into the business on the studio side working in drama development at Columbia TriStar (“Party of Five” and “Dawson’s Creek” were in her portfolio) before moving to Universal Network Television where she was part of the team that acquired the rights to the British comedy “The Office,” which became an NBC mainstay starring Steve Carell.
At Universal, she oversaw a variety of series including “The District,” “The Agency, “Law & Order” and its spin-offs, “Just Shoot Me” and “American Dreams.” For 2017, Timberman exec produces CBS’s legal drama “Doubt” starring Katherine Heigl and Laverne Cox. Originally developed in 2015 with KaDee Strickland in the lead role, CBS redeveloped the drama, jettisoning Strickland and adding Heigl to the cast.
